Shell Beach. Its name sounds sort of commonplace, however, there is nothing commonplace about Shell Beach.

One of San Luis Obispo County’s most desired communities, Shell Beach is a medley of small neighborhoods, some eclectic and others sophisticated, blended together by a bridge of rocky cliffs. Located just five miles south of the City of San Luis Obispo, Shell Beach is peppered with one-bedroom bungalows as well as provocative mansions. On a scale of one to ten, Shell Beach has a 10+ fun factor! Surfing off Shell Beach is a favorite spot for the locals, kids and adults alike. Home of the Dinosaur Caves, some of the West Coast’s finest ocean and cave kayaking happens here as well as exhibitions of spectacular wildlife including occasional dolphin and whale sightings as they migrate to other waters. Depending on the season, it is mesmerizing to observe the number of pelicans that convene on the island cliffs and the ever-entertaining sea lions that vie for a captive audience.
