Concerts in the Plaza is the perfect way to start your weekend. From the ear-to-ear smiles, it’s obvious everyone is here to have a good time and shake off (literally) those mid-week blues. It’s become a tradition to meet friends after work for a little Friday night pre-dinner fun. We have some fantastically talented bands in our area and this is a great chance to see them and for free! If the Zongo! All-Stars don’t get your feet tapping, I don’t know what will!  I also love that this is a family friendly event, watching the little ones get out dance like no is watching has got to make even the worst week look a little brighter.

So go on…grab your family and friends and get your groove on!

Concerts in the Plaza is THE premiere summer concert series on the Central Coast! Thousands of people flock to Downtown San Luis Obispo every Friday between June 4th -August 27th for a free, two-hour concert from 5:30-7:30 p.m., in beautiful Mission Plaza.

The summer concert series features the best local musicians from Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo counties. Local restaurants and eateries provide snacks and food for hungry concertgoers while Firestone Brewery and Edna Valley Vineyards supply beer and wine for purchase. Non-alcoholic beverages are provided as well.

Over 50 bands apply each year to fill the 13 week line-up and past participants include Central Coast favorites: Resination, Damon Castillo Band, Big Daddy’s Blues Band, Still Time, Siko and many more.

Beginning in 1996 with one concert in June, July and August, Concerts in the Plaza, now in its 15th year, has blossomed into what some call the best free party in town! You’re invited to join us for the kick-off on Friday June 4th at 5:30 p.m.

Remember… Concerts in the Plaza is a family friendly event. No outside alcoholic beverages are allowed and this is a non-smoking event.
